South Carolina

Hello, my friends! How are you? Before Spring gathers up her blossomed petticoats and floral garlands and dances away on the first summer breeze, I wanted to share a bit more of my trip to the South last month, this time the incredible gardens I visited in South Carolina. Since there are quite a few images, and since I'm often frustrated with the limitations of the blogging format, I've created a mini magazine which I hope you will enjoy!

And I must mention again my deep gratitude to my Flickr friends Tina, Lis and Kelly, whose captivating images of South Carolina were one of the main reasons I decided to visit there. Tina even generously had me stay in her darling home on the water in Beaufort. Thank you, ladies! I will always carry precious memories of that special week.

And here are some of them.

I hope your weekend is filled with growing, blooming and memorable new adventures.

Ooooo the flowers and the architechture were fabulous. The gazebo! The iron! Oh and I loved the little picture of old tiles - very pretty! I love old tiles.

I giggled in giddy delight at the window boxes page. :) I need warning labels, as I've said before. hehe- so colorful and charming.

Thank you for a breath-taking, beautiful adventure, Georgianna...as always.

  43. *huge sigh* I so wish I had more time to write, please know that I truly enjoyed looking at all of your photos today especially that album, that was incredible! :) My father-in-law will be arriving in a couple of hours so I am madly finishing up cleaning around the house and then we're going to be busy running around for the next week. After he leaves, the kids and I are heading back home to surprise my Dad for his birthday and visit family and friends. I did receive your email a while ago with the typewriter photos in it. Sorry I haven't had a chance to write back yet and Thank You for sharing them! I will choose one soon and let you know which print I would like to purchase ok? Talk to you again soon and take care! :)

Incredible photography, and the shot of a pond and a red bridge over it is magical!

  46. Oh my heavens, Georgianna, I've just viewed your magazine! First, I've been to all these places and I took several of the same photographs while I was in Charleston. None of them are of your caliber and talent I might add. I absolutely am in love with these photographs!! I have been to Magnolia Plantation many times. And, we stopped in Beauford on our way to Savannah. You captured it all so well. That area of the country is truly magical. Unfortunately for us many of the spring blooms were gone ... but we enjoyed our trip just the same. This collection of photography and art is just wonderful. I shall return to this post and read it many times I'm sure.

    Hugs,
    Susie~

  47. I'm back for more! I showed this magazine to my husband. He really enjoyed seeing your work. I especially love the word picture you gave, "Before Spring gathers up her blossomed petticoats and floral garlands and dances away on the first summer breeze". That is such a grand phrase - I just love it!! I also love the collage of flower box windows. I have a question. What is "Indesign"? Is that a piece of publishing software? Like QuarkXpress?

Thank you so much for your visit and comments! I do my best to respond to everyone but with my travel schedule and other commitments, it might take me a few days. Thank you for being patient!
