Ferries and Fairie Flowers

On Sunday early, I boarded a ferry in Edmonds, a short drive from our home, and sailed across the blue waters of Puget Sound to the magnificent Olympic Peninsula. There is something so romantic about a ferry ride, no matter where you are bound. One of our clients, Colette's, is a magnificent B&B nestled in a lush ten acre garden overlooking the sea on the northern end of the peninsula. We shot and produced a video for them last year and now have begun a new project.

Several lovely hours passed among the trees and birds, while I gathered both video and still images. The grounds are always glorious but the woodland garden at this time of year is especially peaceful and full of tiny wonders. It's easy to imagine fairies dancing among them, isn't it?

Much gratitude for your recent visits and wonderful comments. I especially have greatly enjoyed your reminiscences of special rooms and places that hold magical memories for you. Thank you so, so much! I appreciate you sharing them. My work is often very solitary, which I cherish, but I equally cherish knowing you exist – each one of you is very important to me!

  5. I too love woodland flowers and you've captured them beautifully! I especially like the picture of the little blue flowers. I love how only a few are in focus. We sometimes take a ferry ride to the Lake Erie islands and then bike ride. Now I think I'm in the mood to take pictures of our wildflowers! Glad I stopped by.

  12. Oh...Georgianna...these make me want to hop a jet and visit. Actually, we have family in Seattle, and I have seen for myself that all one must do to grow beautiful things in the north west is throw those seeds into the air, and they sprout and bloom before hitting the ground....smiles.

  13. It's funny you should say that fairies live among these flowers, because they remind me of the flower fairy poems we used to read as kids. Many of them were illustrated wearing some of these flowers as little bonnets or clothing.

  28. My fiance just asked me what I was looking at. I turned the screen so he could see it and started scrolling through and cooed... "prettyyyyyy-----oooooo-----" Looking through these is like falling into a beautiful woodland faerie tale.

You are so sweet and appreciated immensely too!
