Apple Blossom Time

I believe the blossoms to be more beautiful and abundant this year than I have ever seen here.

They've inspired (er, compelled) me to take abundant photographs.

All to the good of our stock image library!

And for your listening pleasure, a special Sunday morning musical accompaniment – an extra long, May Day recording of our dawn chorus, which is growing each day in volume and personnel! (This one recorded at 5:15 this morning.)

GPW is for Garden Photo World, our horticultural stock photo library. I'm trying to be efficient and watermark the images so I can use the same ones here and on our business blog, instead of having two versions for the two blogs. D has been away most of the last two months and now is on his long-postponed visit to his family in Chile, so every second of my day counts! :)

  1. Oh Heaven! As a child I used to sit up in the old apple tree right at the top surrounded by the blossom and had just the same feeling as I did looking at your photos :) Here it is pouring with rain and the birds are singing their hearts out :) Catherine x

  2. I thought I was on my own in thinking that all the blossoms looked bigger, brighter and more beautiful this year! Glad it's not just me :-) The photos are so beautiful, would I be ok to "borrow" some of your pictures for my blog? Of course I always link back when I do this. Have a lovely Sunday, Love from London x

  4. Hi Georgianna,
I always love coming here to see your beautiful photos! The appleblossoms are so lovely and I enjoyed the birdsongs too.
We are still waiting for the trees to blossom here but it is supposed to warm up this week.

    Have a good day,

  7. Thank you so much, everyone!

Catherine, I love hearing your memories. Growing up in the country is so special and you describe it so well.

Carole – yes, of course, thank you!

Andrea, I'm so happy to have you visit here! :)

Thank you, Carolyn. I do hope that trick helps. You have so many beautiful subjects to photograph!

Cindy, my Mom has quite a collection of old canning jars so I borrow hers. But I've been collecting small bottles and vases at the thrift stores as well. I never pay more than $1.00. But you'd be surprised what you might already have around the house that would work – vitamin bottles, perfume and lotion bottles, even soda pop bottles.

And Lisa, I peeked at your blog last night on my way to sleep and was astounded to see roses!! Oh my, already! Fantastic!

Lovely day to all you lovely ladies. xo

I can't wait until lilacs are flowering here too, love the sweet smell. :) You did put words on how I feel. Love the spring but also feel I don't want to miss seeing a single flower in bloom and to photograph it. Have a wonderful week ahead! xo

  14. The blossoms are so beautiful! So soft and delicate. You've captured them so perfectly. I especially love the images with the branches in the different bottles. And what a chorus of birds you have...the kids loved this one! We are in the middle of painting our house. It's a disaster! Everything that could go wrong has. :) But, we are almost done and thank you for this lovely post. It is so nice to look at something this pretty when my house isn't pretty. ♥

  21. G, I am out of words. I really don't even know what to say to all this beauty. Are you tired yet of me telling you how talented you are? I need to become a poet just to write about your talent.
